Aramanshahr Architecture & Urban Development

Journal of Architecture, Urban Design & Urban Planning

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONTRIBUTORS

General Points:

■  The Armanshahr journal is aiming to publish the results of scientific researches and experiences in art, architecture, urban planning and design.

■  Research, analytical papers, scientific reports and book reviews on architecture, urban design, urban planning and practical art are accepted as relevant
topics and fields.

Before Submission:

■  Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or
academic thesis), is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, its publication is approved by all authors, and tacitly or explicitly by the
corresponding author, where the work was carried out, and that if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or any other language,
without the written consent of the copyright holder.

■  The manuscript should include a Persian and English summery, keywords, introduction, main references, methodology, literature review, research body showing
results, endnotes, and references. The article should be between 4500-5000 words long, although articles longer than 5000 words will be accepted on an
occasional basis if the topic demands this length of treatment.

■  Manuscripts should be delivered with English and Farsi abstracts, which should be concise and factual and between 250 to 300 words. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. The abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, references should be avoided, but if essential, then cite the author(s) and the year(s). Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if absolutely essential, they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.

■  Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 5 keywords, using American spelling. Avoid general and plural terms and multiple concepts. Only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible. The keywords will be used for indexing purposes.

■  Please number tables, photos and diagrams consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text. Place number and title above the table and explanations below the table. Place number and title below photo or diagrams and indicate the number and title with superscript lowercase letters. Avoid vertical rules. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in tables are not duplicated results described elsewhere in the article.

■  This journal is based on the APA reference style. For more information on this style, please see credible online resources. Farsi references should be translated into English.

■  Pictures in the article should be prepared in black and white with 300 dpi resolution. Pictures should be separately sent to the journal website.

■  The first page should include the author(s) personal information such as name, affiliation and work address. In addition, one author designated as the corresponding author should include his/her e-mail address, full postal address, and telephone and fax numbers.

Article Structure:

■  The introduction states the objectives of the work and provides an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

■  The material and methodology provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be repeated. Methodologies already published elsewhere should be indicated by a reference and only relevant modifications should be described.

■  The theory section should extend, not repeat, the background to the article already dealt with in the introduction and lay the foundation for further work. In contrast,
the calculations section represents a practical development from a theoretical basis.

■  The results should be clear and concise.

■  The discussion section should explore the significance of the results, not repeat them. A combined results and discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid
extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

■  The main conclusion of the study may be presented in a short section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a discussion or results and
discussion section.

■  If there is more than one appendix, they should be identified before the references. Formulae and equations in appendices should be given separate numbering.

Submission:

■  Submission to this journal is done entirely online where guidance for the necessary steps is also included. Please note that the main article source file should be in MS Word 2007 format. Moreover, all correspondence, including notification of the editors' decisions and requests for revision, is done via e-mail. The email address of the journal is: info@armanshahjournal.com.

■  Authors should prepare a formal letter introducing their article briefly including all authors signature. The corresponding author should be mentioned for
further communications.

■  The accuracy and creditably of the articles remains the sole responsibility of the authors.

After Submission:

■ All referee decisions (including acceptance, minor or major modifications) and further essential information will be send to the corresponding author through the journal email.
