Abstract
Integration in human historical and cultural works and consequently in landscapes have been investigated and analyzed in various articles and simple methods for its improvement have been presented. But the basis with which small values can be measured for the level of integration and coherence of a landscape has not been provided. The main goal of this article is to implement a metric system on a conceptual model to understand the integrity of landscapes. Based on this principle, a general review of conceptual diagrams and models defined for integration components in articles and other scientific works is done. Then, by choosing the most appropriate model and considering the evolutionary dimension of landscapes, a new idea and intellectual organization is presented to define their integrity in a quantitative dimension. This new idea and organization is based on a new understanding of the concept of completeness and incompleteness. In this way, the author considers the concept of integration as a stable situation in the perspective that it has passed its formation periods and considers the absence of integration as the status of an unfinished project. Then it shows which states in the conceptual model better represent the incomplete state in the formation of the subject and what changes intensify it. It creates a landscape in various dimensions. It should be noted that what this quantitative model suggests is only a system of thought and other researches are still needed until the components are fully loaded. At the end of the article, a vision of transforming this way of thinking into scientific metrics in the geographic information system (GIS) is presented in which the conceptual model for measuring the integrity of landscapes is shown in the form of indicators next to the screen of a software or technological device related to mapping.
