Abstract
In recent decades, vernacular architecture has received more attention in architectural circles than in the past. Finding a common feature that includes all historical and geographical types of native architecture will be a way to better understand this architecture. One of the challenging issues in today's cities is the existence of historical contexts in the heart of contemporary cities. The separation of new urban contexts from historical contexts due to recent constructions leads to deterioration and neglect of the values hidden in these contexts. The present study was carried out in the historical context of Dezful with the aim of investigating the impact of contextualization of intermediate buildings on visual coherence and spatial flexibility. The research method is combined (quantitative and qualitative). In the first step, by studying library and written documents, related articles in the field of native architecture and spatial capabilities, effective components were extracted. Then, in order to complete the components and create reliability in the above concepts, an open interview was conducted with experts in architecture, urban planning and restoration. Using the questionnaire data and spss26 software and taking advantage of the Friedman test to check the normality of the data, we conducted a statistical analysis to check the relationship between the variables, and finally, according to the coefficients obtained from the research variables, we produced graphs with the help of Gephi software was discussed. The results of the research in analyzing people's views on the indicators affecting the perception of intermediate buildings in the traditional context of Dezful city show that the most important indicators affecting the promotion of visual coherence and spatial flexibility are respectively: Lsf structures (14.93), spatial variation ( 15.32), multifunctional spaces (14.76) and building form (14.71).
